Fight For 15 Chicago & SEIU HCII

The Workers Organizing Committee of Chicago of the Fight For 15 campaign is a union of fast food workers pushing for a $15 living wage, union rights, and better working conditions in the Chicago area, Illinois, and Indiana. While wages remain stagnant and income inequality keeps rising, employers like McDonald's are making billions in profits. Workers like us, adults with families, don’t get paid enough to cover basic needs like food, rent, health care and transportation.

We are standing up to say ENOUGH. And we need everyone who supports us to join us. It’s time to give every worker a chance to survive and thrive – and strengthen the economy.

SEIU HCII is a member of the Bright Future Illinois Campaign, a coalition of parents, teachers, child care providers and early educators, formed in response to the hardship inflicted upon the state’s working families who are unable to access affordable child care and early education for their children.  We are fighting for:

  • Full-day programs that allow parents to work full-time hours;
  • Affordable and accessible in the communities where families live and work;
  • Guided by community needs and input by working families and the workforce;
  • Provide all early care and education workers with a living wage of not less than $15 an hour and parity with early educators in public schools;
  • Sufficiently funded by progressive revenue measures that do not burden working families
