BATs need to be at NJEA Convention!
NJEA neglected to inform the New Jersey Chapter of the Badass Teachers Association about the rejection of their application for a complimentary booth a the NJEA Convention in November. This has limited the amount of time that this organization has remaining to fund the expense of renting a booth.
Why is this important?
NJ BATs has played an important role in directing the voice of the members towards how they feel NJEA should respond to issues with regards to public education. They led the initiative to push NJEA towards the standardized test refusal movement and play an integral role in supporting union strong policies from within. BATs provides an alternative method for members to get involved in union activities and helps to provide an additional path of communication with union leadership.
