To: Mother's Market CEO

Customers say "Bring back the Costa Mesa 15! Respect workers' rights!"

This campaign has ended.

Dear Mother's Market CEO Dorothy Carlow,
Bring back the Costa Mesa 15. Mother’s Market workers and their allies are calling on you to reinstate the 15 suspended workers.

The workers' suspensions have brought our attention to on-going struggles workers face at Mother's Market, especially since the store was bought by private-equity firm Mill Road Capital in 2016.

As customers, we too have noticed a decline in the stores. Long wait times from what appears to be understaffing and jaw-dropping prices have us scratching our heads and asking, where does the money go?

In the struggle for social justice, the 'boycott' is a tool in our toolbox. But not one we deploy without deep intention and resolve. We'd rather give the company the opportunity to do the right thing.

Please, Mother's Market CEO, re-instate the Costa Mesa 15 and respect these workers' right to organize without retribution.

Why is this important?

Sure, this looks like is a small fight. One 12-store grocery chain in sea of many... But Mother's Market workers have become a symbol of something greater -- the right of workers to stand up to Private Equity, perhaps capitalism's greediest form yet.
