Safety Measures

We feel at risk. We have urgent, shared concerns that the new office has inadequate accessibility, and our current COVID safety protocols in our workplace are not enough. We are asking for immediate measures to address both safety and leave policies, including the following :

⌧ Make the building more safely accessible. The current entryway to the second story has had several falls already from employees who are not limited in mobility and we have employees who have mobility issues. Addressing this in the short term with anti-slip strips followed by a longer term solution with a lift for those with difficulty using stairs. This would help office communication and prevent workers comp lawsuits due to slip and falls.

⌧ During the Covid-19 pandemic a work from home option be made available to all employees, the infrastructure already exists and it’s usage would help prevent time out sick benefiting the company and employees.

⌧Do not require a positive COVID-19 test result or a healthcare provider’s note for employees who are sick to validate their illness, qualify for sick leave, or to return to work. Healthcare provider offices and medical facilities may be extremely busy and not able to provide such documentation in a timely manner.

⌧ Incentivize sick employees to stay home with paid leave.

⌧ Maintain flexible policies that permit employees to stay home to care for a sick or immune compromised family member or take care of children due to school and childcare closures. Use non-punitive emergency sick leave policies.

⌧ Support employees and workplace safety by providing paid leave which provides the proper incentive for sick or exposed employees to stay home.

Why is this important?

As stated above We feel at risk. We have urgent, shared concerns that the new office has inadequate accessibility, and our current COVID safety protocols in our workplace are not enough. We are asking for these immediate measures to address our safety
