Stop making waiters top up accounts

Whenever there's money missing from the till, the manager or supervisor asks all the front of house staff to pay out of their own pocket, or the manager/supervisors are pressured by the owners to pay into it themselves to save face. This should not be the responsibility of either front of house or management.

Why is this important?

In every restaurant there are days when accounts sometimes don't add up, but it is the responsibility of the owner to cushion that loss, not the lowest paid staff in the business.
