We need to bring back auto gratuity to parties of 6 or more. When servers have to tip out for runners, bussers and bartenders, this tip comes out of their own tips based on their sales for the day. Most of the time servers have to end up paying for guests to sit at their table and eat because they don't tip the proper amount according to their tab. In a place like Santa Monica, and other cities that are most of the time visited by tourists from other countries, people that don't want to tip or dont understand tipping or how much, we are shortened in our tips and our paychecks are not even enough to pay for our gas to get to and from work or to eat ...

Why is this important?

This is extremely important because servers who used to average say $1000 a month, are now averaging way less. Our guests shouldn't have a problem with auto gratuity , and the company we work for especially shouldn't have an issue with bringing back auto grat, a company that prides itself on being the best there is and treating eachother like family and having guests satisfaction be our ultimate goal. Help the servers continue this mission for our guests by helping them. Everyone gets paid regardless of what happens, besides servers. Bring Auto grat back everywhere!

Real change happens when everyday people come together and stand up for what we believe in is right. I'm confident that if enough people speak out on this issue, we can win. After you've signed the petition, please take a moment to share it with others. It's super easy!

i think its ridiculous that auto grat was taken away..if you don't have the money to tip in the first place why go out and eat?

Nobody should be expected to work for free. Those who do not tip are not only insulting my hard work and efforts, they are ALLOWED to make me pay for part of their meal, via "tip out". I strive to provide my guests with superior service and I do my job well. I enjoy the opportunity to work where I do but, I am there to earn money to support my family. In my opinion, asking my employer to ensure that I am paid appropriately is not unreasonable.

If we are going to continue to be forced to tip out employees that could be paid hourly by a multi million dollar company, we should have some means of being protected. It isn't fair to rely on your servers to pay other employee's wages. Large parties often rack up huge bills and don't tip properly. Sometimes it ends up that I am paying for them to eat there.
