1. Change Uber, Lyft and Side-car drivers from independent contractors to employees.
2. Raise the fare prices to a decent living wage.
3. Provide comprehensive insurance at an affordable price covering drivers at all times.
Why is this important?
Drivers for these technology companies have no say in the decisions affecting them. If fare prices drop, they have to just put up with it. If they get in an accident, like so many drivers have, there are times when they are not covered by either their personal insurance nor the technology companies' insurance. Yet these drivers are recruited so relentlessly by these companies who abandon the drivers when the drivers end up in times of need.
So many drivers are kicked out of the system for no apparent reason other than when these technology companies feel like it. This needs to stop!
