  • Pay Us What We're Owed
This has almost 5 THOUSAND signatures and I can't thank you guys enough. We were just awarded our ENTIRE pay in 2 increments! My staff and I can finally rid our hands of this company and start moving on and picking up the pieces in full! #SpeakOut I will never apologize for being outspoken. It's gotten me extremely far in life. Thank you to my friends on and off Facebook who helped my staff and I get to where we are now and everyone else who signed our petition. You're aren't unnoticed. If you've been mistreated by your restaurant employer and need some support, reach out to the Restaurant Opportunities Center (www.rocunited.org) and they'll be able to help you out as well. Thank you once again! Have a nice day!

  • Marriott: live up to your values, expand your paid family leave policy!
This weekend I got the most exciting email in my inbox: a photo of a flyer explaining Marriott’s brand-new paid family leave policy! It says starting next year, many full-time Marriott employees will get eight weeks of fully paid parental leave for all parents. The new policy includes the same amount of leave for adoptive parents as well as increasing Marriott’s total reimbursement for adoption expenses to $12,000. It’s so important to celebrate every victory we achieve because of the real impact it will have on people’s lives. But we also want to acknowledge that right now, thousands of Marriott employees are on strike demanding better wages, job security, and improved workplace safety. Those employees are not included in this new policy.

  • IFF: Meet with your employees in Dandenong
Victory! After 1,000 people joined our petition, IFF's Asia Pacific Regional Manager flew to Australia to meet with the workers. We've now reached an agreement and can return back to work! We defended our breaks, protected our accrued personal leave and won a wage increase of 6.3% over three years. Importantly, workers made a stand, showed solidarity and our voices were heard. Thanks for your support. It made a difference! Read more about our victory: + Guardian: http://bit.ly/1CVKwRu + Herald Sun: http://bit.ly/1DAOmxJ

  • Hops Burger Bar workers seek COVID-19 protections for the community
After a one-day strike we delivered our list of demands. Two weeks later workers received a temporary COVID-19 plan of action. This win includes paid sick leave through the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). This act originally expired in January and was renewed again until March. We are hoping protections will be extended past March. Please continue to support us! It will take community pressure on management at Hops and throughout the city of Greensboro to make sure they follow through on meeting employees’ demands.
