• Starbucks 2019 piercing rule
Starbucks is a corporation that focuses on the partner experience being a great one. One of the many ways they insure this is by allowing us to express ourselves through our tattoos and hair color. But the current December 2019 piercing rule is extremely restrictive. Allowing only one facial piercing is not in line with the ethos they stand by, and quite frankly makes no sense. I myself identify heavily as somebody with many body modifications and I feel I have to hide a part of myself and my identity every day I go to work by taking out my numerous piercings. This makes me feel less confident, there for making my partner experience less great.

  • Let me get my nails done
Starbucks has always strived on allowing partners to express themselves in many ways. In previous years they have allowed for your hair to be colored however you choose and the change in dress code has allowed for partners to express themselves through their clothing. We are petitioning for Starbucks to change the rules on nails because it is a way for everyone to feel good about themselves and exude confidence while at work. With the change in nail products there is an extremely slim chance that you would run into the issue of nail polish chipping or nails breaking.

  • Expanded Educational Benefits
This is important because there are many Starbucks Partners who have already earned a 4 year degree, been in the workforce for a period of time and no longer see value in what they studied due to changes in life, interests, and career path, especially many older Partners such as myself. In my particular stuation, I have earned a 4 year degree, and after years in the workforce, no longer want to pursue a career path in my field of study. This makes me no different than a twenty something starting out in College. In both cases, we are trying to find a career path, I'm just older and degreed.

  • Pay partners more.
It is important to me and to others because we are the company each worker has an impact on how successful this company is. If we were to get promotions it would show that the company is appreciating us, yes the Starbucks Achievement Plan, is phenomenal, but there are partners who live on their own, those with families if they are doing school they need to be payed more for furthering their education.

  • Starbucks, restricting piercings is keeping your partners from showing their true selves!
It's simple! Having multiple piercings, whether it may be a septum piercing, eyebrow piercing, or many, many ear piercings, doesn't make our appearance seem criminal, and it does not mean said partner is unapproachable. Customers care about our products and the amazing experience they receive by coming the Starbucks. This WILL NOT be hindered by allowing partners to have more piercings. Please, allow partners the ability to FULLY express themselves. If you agree, give this petition a sign!

  • Give us our hands!
The reason I believe this is important because I care for my hands. I have always used color on my fingers as part of my personality. I accepted this as the part of my job I hate. Which says my job is great! The public sees our hands a lot! But I see so many women express themselves with color. It causes connections in our stores. Imagine how much more connected we can be to have another topic to discuss with our customers.

  • Let us have un-natural colored hair.
I love my job at Starbucks, but being such an inclusive company and not allowing us to fully express ourselves makes us not feel as individualized as we should. The Green Apron is a trademark for Starbucks, so it shouldn't matter what color hair we have. It is now 2015, personalities bigger, and individuality shrinking. Having multicolored bright hair isn't distracting, it's personal. Thank you for okay-ing tattoos but this is the next step we need to take.
