    Amazon has made numerous statements in the recent pass saying that it supports Black lives - for instance in a twitter post it wrote: "The inequitable and brutal treatment of Black people in our country must stop. Together we stand in solidarity with the Black community — our employees, customers, and partners — in the fight against systemic racism and injustice." Black and Latinx people are significantly more likely to be impacted by coronavirus than people of other backgrounds. This is the result of the systemic racism and injustice Amazon claims to stand in solidarity with us against. If that's the case, they should be willing to forego the service of this facility long enough to ensure that workers are as safe as they possibly can be. 1 preventable death is unacceptable. Shut down this facility in defense of Black lives!

  • Petition to Re-establish Hazard Pay
    In addition to the pay increase period coming to an end, partner hours have recently been reduced. Many employees have had to resort to filing for partial unemployment to meet financial needs. Until conditions have returned to the pre-pandemic status that we were accustomed to, employees should be granted an hourly pay increase that would effectively provide financial stability.

  • ESS (Source4Teachers) must be held accountable
    Because of their classification of us, we do not qualify for regular unemployment benefits. We're not given the same benefits, we're not given the same paid time off, we're not even allowed in the union - at least not the way my district negotiated ESS's contract, I can imagine this is true elsewhere. It's ludicrous that I could work alongside district hired employees who have Union representatives to be their voice & hold the school accountable during this very uncertain time. Subcontracting teacher's aides, especially special education ones, like me, is bad for students, staff & the reputation of the school. It also entirely disenfranchises aspiring educators, like myself, who took a permanent position with a school to fund my way to teacher certification. Now, why would I even bother....? I'm sure many are in my position & that needs to change now for the future of education. Forbes named them a best largest employer for 3 years in a row, at the very least that needs to stop.

  • Tazza d'Oro Barista Solidarity Petition
    Why are we making these requests? We all care deeply about Tazza d’Oro and the people that we serve, but we cannot continue to work if it is unsafe and our basic needs aren’t met (ie. health insurance and clear status’ of pay). We want to continue to work at Tazza d’Oro, but we want it to be a better work environment, one that is safe for ourselves and customers. Many of these requests were in front of mind prior to COVID19, but the pandemic has made their need even clearer. Again - we love our jobs. We would like to return. We just request that we are treated with transparency from management and dignity, as we the baristas provide the efficacy and sustainability of the company.

  • Take a Stand with Crazy Mocha Workers
    We have dedicated ourselves to growing and sustaining Crazy Mocha because we believe in the value it brings to Pittsburgh’s communities. Many of us have worked for years to serve our customers with a high standard of customer service and care. We are valuable members of the business and should be treated as such. Instead, we have been ignored and treated as if we were of no importance to Crazy Mocha whatsoever. We haven't heard anything from the Company since March 26. Any information we've gathered has been from public news reports and social media. Our personal appeals for information are disregarded. Our comments are deleted from social media posts. We've already reached out to the Corporate team who is still working and received total radio silence. Even before this pandemic, when we've reached out to HR in the past, we've been told our concerns are invalid and to stop contacting them about our issues. Many of us have been manipulated by the company: we've been falsely promised benefits for which we weren't actually eligible, we've been told we'd make a higher wage for a shift and never paid that rate, we've been lied to about the nature of regular raises. We've had safety and security issues in stores and been told to just call 911. We have felt extremely disrespected and dehumanized, as if we're completely replaceable. We are a big reason that regular customers keep coming back and, first and foremost, would like this fact to be acknowledged. We look forward to being able to return to our jobs. We care enough that we would like to see changes so that we can continue to provide an excellent product and exceptional service like we always have. We just ask that our concerns are taken seriously and with heart.

  • Keep Jimmy John's Workers and Customers Safe
    We, the undersigned workers of Jimmy John's are concerned about the COVID-19 Health Crisis, and are worried about how our current work situation is putting us and others directly in harm’s way. We do not feel it is safe to be allowing customers to continue coming into the lobby when the CDC and medical community agree that we have not yet even reached the peak of this crisis. Even with the precautions that management has taken to make things safer, the reality is that our stores are mostly small enclosed spaces, COVID-19 is highly contagious, and cases in Indiana are continuing to rise by the hundreds each day. Also, our state does not have regularly accessible testing so the actual number of confirmed cases and deaths are likely far higher than what they are reported as now. We understand that sales are down, but we believe that management must put the lives of its customers and staff over its own profit. If one of us gets sick and is unable to take paid time off or the lobby is opened then they have significantly greater risk of spreading the virus to the rest of the staff and to customers. We cannot in good conscience put ourselves, our families, and our customers at even greater risk by keeping the lobby open and increasing the amount of direct contact that could likely spread the virus further. The close contact at the register and in the lobby means that anyone taking orders and drivers returning from deliveries come well within six feet of many customers and put both parties at risk.

    As food service workers, Domino's employees are considered essential workers, providing food to their communities. However, workers in the stores have received little to no benefits to compensate us for the added risks we are now under. We also have very little safety nets should any of us fall sick. We are taking care of our communities and deserve to be fairly compensated for it. We deserve to be taken care of.

  • Tyson Foods: Don't Reopen Without Paid Leave
    Tyson Foods, one of the largest meat processing companies in the world, has become the next deadly epicenter of the Coronavirus pandemic. Meat processing plants have long been one of the most dangerous workplaces in America, but the Coronavirus has made the situation drastically worse. Meat processors work shoulder to shoulder in crowded plants. From Iowa to Georgia, thousands of employees at meat processing plants have gotten sick and several have even died--forcing Tyson to close multiple plants where outbreaks had occurred. Now, Tyson is planning to reopen plants, after President Trump ordered meat processors to stay open. That means that employees will be going back to work in an environment where social distancing is impossible--but since Tyson has no comprehensive paid sick or family leave policies, they’ll be forced to choose between their paycheck and protecting their health and their families. That’s why employees and consumers are speaking out together: Nobody should have to risk their health--or their family’s health--to go to work. Tyson must provide paid leave to all employees before they reopen a single plant. Will you add your name?

  • Portland Public Schools Campus Security Agents and Nutrition Services Staff Deserve Incentive Pay
    Across most industries, “essential employees” are on the front lines of the Coronavirus crisis, supporting our communities and ensuring people continue to have access to services and resources. This includes the employees of the Portland Public School system, including the Campus Security Agents keeping campuses safe and Nutrition Services employees who are still making meals for food insecure kids to pick up while they are learning from home. Like many workers across the state, our Nutrition Services employees and Campus Security Agents are stepping up to support our communities during this crisis. While most of their coworkers are thankfully able to stay safely at home with full pay due to Governor Brown’s Executive Order, many are risking exposure to make sure that students won’t go hungry. In addition to the risk of exposure to COVID-19, these dedicated employees are constantly exposed to the elements, working outdoors in weather that is often rainy and cold. These employees should be recognized for this effort by receiving an Incentive Pay differential for their work during this state of emergency. These workers are putting themselves at extreme risk to help us, many with low-wages and few benefits. It is time that we as a community come together to support them and provide them with an Incentive Pay differential to compensate them for the risks they are taking. They continue to do the work that all of us depend on, and while many of us have the luxury to work from home, they are going out everyday to keep our kids safe and fed.
