• Give us our hands!
The reason I believe this is important because I care for my hands. I have always used color on my fingers as part of my personality. I accepted this as the part of my job I hate. Which says my job is great! The public sees our hands a lot! But I see so many women express themselves with color. It causes connections in our stores. Imagine how much more connected we can be to have another topic to discuss with our customers.

  • Let us have un-natural colored hair.
I love my job at Starbucks, but being such an inclusive company and not allowing us to fully express ourselves makes us not feel as individualized as we should. The Green Apron is a trademark for Starbucks, so it shouldn't matter what color hair we have. It is now 2015, personalities bigger, and individuality shrinking. Having multicolored bright hair isn't distracting, it's personal. Thank you for okay-ing tattoos but this is the next step we need to take.

  • We Need Bathroom Access- Stop Locking Us Out!
Not having access to this bathroom means that we have to take time out of our short breaks to walk across the whole store to go to the other bathroom, if it is open at all. Having these bathrooms open and available would greatly improve the work day of associates who have medical issues that require immediate access to restrooms.

  • Point Park University Students Support the Adjuncts Right to Unionize!
Despite rising tuition costs, the majority of faculty continue to be underpaid, underrepresented, and lack any type of job security. At Point Park, we pay between $24,000 and $30,000 a year in tuition. Our adjunct professors on the other hand, receive $2,100 to $2,200 per course with NO benefits and no guarantee of future employment. As students we must ask ourselves where does the money go? If not to those working day-in and day-out to impart us with the necessary skills for our futures then where? 78% of our professors are adjuncts. An increased use of adjuncts lowers graduation rates. This is only because they are not receiving the benefits and compensation they deserve. By giving our adjuncts space on campus, bettering adjunct working conditions, increasing adjunct pay this can be remedied. This would free up adjunct schedules allowing more time for them to focus on a reasonable number of students, and provide the quality education they strive to give. Graduation rates would rise as students would be granted much needed one on one time to work with their professors. In respect to the treatment of our professors the University is not looking out for the students. By withholding from our professors the fair treatment, job security, proper benefits, and proper pay that they deserve not only are our chances of success during college hampered, but our futures as well. They are ignoring student needs and completely disregarding the values in which they espouse. [1] Point Park University. "Tuition." • STOP UNDERFUNDING LOUDOUN COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
In the past two years alone, the Loudoun County School Board and Board of Supervisors have cut the proposed Loudoun County Public School budget by $70.1 million. This repeated underfunding is hurting students, parents, school employees, and our community as a whole. Whether it’s inadequate bus service, delayed technological upgrades, larger class sizes, less competitive compensation for staff, or increased fees for parents, the result is clear: underfunding is undermining the quality of public education in Loudon County. This year, the Loudoun Education Association is partnering with parents, students and school employees to tell public officials that this year’s budget must meet the needs of schools and students in Loudoun County. Signatures from online and offline petitions will be presented to the Loudoun County School Board and Board of Supervisors during budget meetings. The Loudoun Education Association will inform signers of opportunities to get involved in the budget process.
